How do we live our lives as Jews? Each week, the Torah reveals its secrets as we turn it and turn it to find guidance for life’s big questions. Our interactive, exciting Torah study each Saturday morning brings new discoveries. Whether you are a beginner or a Torah scholar, you will find new insights at MJCS each Shabbat.
Let Rabbi Cantor Marcelo’s music move you to praise and inspire the prayer of your heart through our weekly Shabbat morning service. Kol Haneshama, the Reconstructionist siddur, provides translations, transliterations, and interpretations that enable all of us to find our place in prayer.
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Join Rabbi Cantor Marcelo and Chaplain Ruth Belonsky each Saturday morning as we celebrate the Shabbat with morning blessings, songs of praise (p’sukei d’zimra) and traditional Shabbat prayer. We conclude our Shabbat morning service with the recitation of Kaddish.
10:05 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Rabbi Janet Madden conducts an interactive, in-depth study of the Torah portion each week. No experience necessary – just a love of thoughtful and invigorating conversation based on the wisdom of Jewish text.
* On Special days when there is a morning Bar/Bat mitzvah, Torah study will be held in the small sanctuary from 9-10:30, and the morning service in the main sanctuary from 10:30-1PM.
